In addition to surgery for facial aging, I also perform surgery for patients who want abdominoplasty. This surgery is commonly called a 'tummy tuck' because it reduces the appearance of a protruding abdomen. It's major abdominal surgery during which I remove excess fat and skin from the mid and lower abdomen and tighten the abdominal muscles. Although there's a permanent scar, it's usually hidden so you can wear a bikini or hip hugging pants. Child bearing, major weight loss and loss of elasticity due to aging are all reasons men and women want the flat abdomen they may have had earlier in life.
Because this is major surgery, it will take some time before you'll be able to return to all of your regular activities. It may take up to two weeks before you return to work.
