There are several reasons why forehead surgery might be a consideration. First, the forehead is a very active part of the face. We show expressions like frowning, surprise, questioning with the muscles in our brow. Some of us unconsciously raise our eyebrows when we are talk, and some raise their eyebrows because their brows are sagging and impede vision. All of these expressions create lines, creases and wrinkles in your forehead.
If you're interested in eyelid surgery, we'll also talk about whether your brow is part of the problem. I may propose that you have a browlift to raise your eyebrows, in addition to removing the fat and excess skin I ordinarily remove during eyelift surgery.
For others, I may partially immobilize some of the muscles in your forehead so that you can't as actively frown or raise your eyebrows that create forehead lines or an angry expression.
The bruising and swelling will be evident for about two weeks after surgery, but after that you'll notice the difference.
